Our AG Intercultural Management 道場 DOJO meets online at the level of the Japanese-German Business Association (DJW) since 2021. With practitioners we discuss intercultural competence building in order to create intercultural synergy. Sharing intercultural experiences we wish to heighten the awareness for better management practices in bilingual workplaces. Following topics will be addressed throughout our manager training:
- Awareness of cognitive processes in intercultural management
- Recognizing and reconciling cultural differences
- Creating cultural synergy and innovation
- Networking for mutual trust
We encourage participants also to think critical about various cross-cultural management issues and international management ethics. How to building trustful relationships with business partners from other cultures we like to discuss. Favoring a constructive intercultural management approach we like to train participants in our AG Intercultural Management 道場 Dojo to bridge Japanese and German culture as successful boundary spanner.
Forthcoming Events
AG Intercultural Management 道場 is conducted usually online but sometimes also at Ritsumeikan OIC on the spot. A registration at DJW Event Homepage is possible. The next 道場 Dojo session discusses following topic: Building shared values across cultures—is it a realistic goal or just a beautiful ideal?
In the reality of Japanese German business, we often strive for common ground. Yet, even when we speak the same language, we often operate under fundamentally different conceptual frameworks. In our upcoming Intercultural Management 道場 (Dojo), we will dive into the practical friction points and exchange our views on: Where do “shared values” succeed—and where is the breaking point? What happens when the same words hide completely different assumptions? How can individuals create workable alignment in high-stakes business situations? Our invited speaker is Ms. Rumi Hasegawa (Intercultural Expert Rumi Hasegawa)
Date: June 25, 2026; Time: 12:00–13:00 CET (Germany) | 19:00–20:00 JST (Japan)
Online via Microsoft Teams; Link [AG Intercultural Management 道場]
Participation is welcome in German, Japanese, or English! We are looking forward to exchanging views with you.
