Management Geography – Managers and Management of Space(s) at the 6th GCEG in Dublin, June 2022

Professor Dr. Rolf D. Schlunze initiated with Profs. Lech Suwala and Piotr Pachura a special session at the 6th GCEG in Dublin entitled Management Geography – Managers and Management of Space(s) sending out a Call for Paper in 2021. Our ManGeo Special session SS05_03 Management Geography – Managers and Management of Space(s) was conducted on Thursday, June 9 Thursday, June 9 8:30 AM – 9:50 AM (IST) at the Building UCD15 – Room B109/110. As session chair functioned Prof. Dr. Piotr Pachura (Czestochowa University of Technology, Poland) together Lech Suwala (Technical University Berlin, Germany). Janet Merkel (TU Berlin) presented her novel research entitled Social Curation as a Specific Mode of Intermediation in Co-working Spaces. The leading UK economic geographer Professor James Faulconbridge (Lancaster University) presented his innovative research about Global Professional Service Firms and the Forgotten Power of the State. Finally, Professor Piotr Pachura, presented his enlighten, theoretical work on Heterotopic Spaces of an Organization – Conceptual Framework and Research Potential. The session was well received and the efforts of the ManGeo research group honored since leading international economic geographers among them Professor Elmar Kulke were attending.

Due to late registration cause by covid-19 regulations the organizer Prof. Rolf Schlunze was asked to contribute to another session on innovation entitled (T05_02) Geographies of Organizations, Networks and Management II: Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He presented his research entitled Shaping spaces of innovation communities – The role of promoters in [German-Japanese] innovation networks – Research sponsored by the Japanese government (JSPS grant JP20K01167) on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
